Hello, I’m Dr. Franchesca Capellan,

I founded Family Systems Collective (FSC) as a family-centered consulting and applied research initiative dedicated to advancing equitable, humane, and accountable systems for families impacted by incarceration. FSC works at the intersection of leadership, justice, policy, and community engagement, focusing on addressing the intergenerational impact of incarceration through culturally responsive and systems-informed approaches. I am the daughter of a currently incarcerated father; this initiative is grounded in both lived and professional experience. I bring a deeply personal understanding of the emotional, social, and systemic realities experienced by justice-impacted families. FSC bridges scholarship, advocacy, and community practice to advance family-centered justice, systems accountability, and transformational leadership for historically marginalized communities.
